Directions for use

Before using the Dog Groomer

  • Wash - it is vital that your dog's coat has been well washed and conditioned before trimming and there should be no dirt or debris in the coat, as this may cause the blade to lose its sharpness
  • Dry - it is vital that your dog's coat is properly dry before trimming, as a wet coat can cause the trimmer blade to malfunction in the wet hair, making it hard to cut
  • Comb - It is vital that your dog's coat is tangle free before trimming, as knots and tangles can interfere with the trimmer from moving through your dog's coat
  • Clip - Following steps 1-3, your dog is now ready to be trimmed

The device comes fitted with a detachable No 10 blade. This is a professional clipper device and the blade set will need to be removed for cleaning and periodic maintenance

Removing the blade set

  1. Ensure the clipper is switched off and disconnected from the power source
  2. Turn the handset over and push the central spring-release lever A forward with your thumb
  3. Carefully hold the front edge of the blade set with your other hand and push the front edge of the blade set backwards to disengage the blade set from the handset
  4. Place the disengaged blade set on a safe and flat surface

Re-attaching the blade

  1. Position the blade onto the open blade hinge. If the blade hinge has been accidently snapped closed so that is laying flat on the clipper, push the central spring-release lever forward, and using a small flat-head screwdriver, pry the blade hinge up so that it snaps into the ‘open’ position
  2. Slide the blade set across (left or right) until the centre recess at the back of the blade lines up with the blade hinge
  3. Push the blade set gently down until the central spring release lever pops out
  4. Press the central spring release lever to engage the blade set, so there is no excess blade movement. If there is excess blade movement when the blade is snapped closed, it is likely the drive lever is not properly engaged – in this case, remove the blade set and repeat steps 1 – 3

Changing the blade drive lever assembly

  1. Ensure the handset is turned off and disconnected from the power source
  2. Remove the blade set from the handset
  3. Remove the drive lever cavity cover to gain access to the drive lever assembly
  • To do this, insert a small screwdriver as pictured, and lever the cavity cover backwards to remove
  • Once the cavity cover is removed, use a small Phillips head screwdriver to undo the two screws securing the plastic lever drive lever assembly
  • Gently remove the drive lever assembly
  1. Insert and position the new drive lever assembly in place
  2. Firmly secure the drive lever assembly with the 2 screws
  3. Position and snap the drive lever cavity cover in place
  4. Replace the blade set and test with the handset turned on
  5. If the blade is not working correctly, recheck steps 1-5

Blade Care

  • It is important that before, during and after trimming that the trimmer blade is oiled
  • Regular oiling of the blade provides lubrication and a pleasant cut
  • Oiling eliminates the formation of rust which may damage the blade edge which can make trimming harder and uncomfortable for your dog

  • Disconnect the device from power source
  • Press and push blade off the device, being careful not to cut yourself with the blade
  • To stop the blade from falling off, use your other hand to support the blade from underneath, as dropping the blade may cause damage to the cutting edge
  • Brush away any hair from the blade cavity with the cleaning brush
  • Re-oil blade at five oiling points with a drop of oil at each point as shown in the product manual
  • Re-connect the blade to the device
