- Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional support of dogs with, or a tendency to form, urate, oxylate and cystine uroliths
- Complete and balanced food that provides all the nutrition dogs need
- Decreases the urinary concentration of the constituents of uroliths
- Targeted urinary pH discourages formation and aggregation of non struvite crystals
- Slows progression of kidney disease
- Reduced levels of protein and calcium to help limit the formation of bladder stones
- Added taurine and high levels of L-carnitine help maintain healthy heart muscle function
- Added antioxidants to control cell oxidation and promote a healthy immune system
Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:
- Dissolution of urate and cystine uroliths
- Prevention of urate, oxylate and cystine uroliths
- Advanced renal failure
Contraindications:
- Cats
- Puppies
- Pregnant or lactating bitches
- Struvite urolithiasis
- Hypoalbuminaemia
- Hyperlipidaemia
- History of, or risk of, pancreatitis
Feeding Directions
- It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use and during the period of use
- Individual requirements will vary depending on pre-existing nutritional status and medical condition
- Consult with the treating veterinarian to establish a feeding guide for the individual patient
- Grams are the most accurate form of measurement; cups are estimated from grams
- If feeding this food for the first time, mix increasing amounts of your pet's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food for 7 days or more
- Keep fresh water available at all times
- Your pet's nutritional needs may change as they age - ask your vet at every check-up
- If you receive the new bag, it is recommended to transition your dog to the new formula over a period of 7-10 days
