Hills Prescription Diet Canine ud Urinary Care Dry Dog Food
It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before and during the use of this product in order to determine the needs of your dog
- Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional support of dogs with, or a tendency to form, urate, oxylate and cystine uroliths
- Controlled levels of protein, decreased purine and uric acid excretion, alongside a targeted urine pH, decreases the risk of urate crystal and urolith formation
- The low protein level helps to decrease urea production and dilute the urine
- Targeted urinary pH (7.1 - 7.7) increases the solubility of crystals
- Taurine and L-carnitine are included to promote heart health
- The dietary buffering capacity is increased to aid in raising pH urinary levels to reduce urate crystallisation
- Antioxidants (vitamin E and beta carotene) are added to control cell oxidation and reduce inflammation
- Low sodium levels contribute to a healthy urinary tract
