- Controlled protein levels, combined with essential amino acids and nucleic acids aid in decreasing urinary concentrations and stone-forming constituents
- A targeted urinary pH of 7.1 - 7.7 enhances the solubility of urate and cystine crystals
- L-Carnitine and Taurine are added to assist regular heart function
- The Dietary Buffering Capacity helps to increase the urine pH to reduce the chance of cystine and urate crystallization
- Low sodium content promotes a healthy urinary tract
- Antioxidants are added to help protect cells from free radical damage and support immune health
Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:
Primary Indication:
- Urate and cystine urolith management
Other Indications:
- Copper storage disease
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Portosystemic shunt
- Uremic encephalopathy
Contraindications:
- Growing puppies, pregnant or nursing dogs
- Dogs with struvite urolithiasis, hyperlipidemia, hypoalbuminaemia, pancreatitis, history of pancreatitis or at risk of pancreatitis
