• Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional support of dogs with liver disease including hepatocellular disease, portosystemic shunts, chronic canine inflammatory hepatic disease, fibrotic hepatopathies, biliary disease, and glucocorticoid-induced hepatopathy
• Puppies with portosystemic shunts or other liver conditions may be fed this food with guidance from a veterinarian
• Formulated to support liver health and protect vital liver function
• Contains high quality, easy-to-digest protein to help reduce liver workload and promote liver healing and regeneration of the tissue
• Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) and aromatic amino acids (AAA) are included at a precise ratio to help lower ammonia production and nitrogenous by-products 
• Contains easy-to-digest carbohydrates to decrease protein breakdown which can cause gluconeogenesis
• High levels of L-carnitine helps metabolise fat into energy in the liver
• Contains antioxidants to control cell oxidation and strengthen the immune system
• Vitamin K and zinc are included - dogs with liver disease are often deficient in these vitamins 
• Soluble fibre is added to encourage colonic evacuation and promote nitrogen fixation by enteric bacteria - which in turn decreases the production and absorption of ammonia

Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:

Contraindications:                                       

• Pregnant or nursing dogs
• Patients with hyperlipidemia, pancreatitis, history of pancreatitis or at risk of pancreatitis
