  • Treat at a dose level of 1mL/20kg body weight (5mL per 100kg)
  • One syringe (35mL) will treat a horse up to 700kg

Further Information

  • Underdosing due to underestimating your horse’s weight can leave your horse unprotected against worm related diseases and may lead to resistance
  • A single tube will treat a horse up to 700kg which represents 99% of Australian horses
  • Can be safely used in breeding stallions at any time without adversely affecting fertility
  • Can be used in mares at all stages of pregnancy
  • Pregnant mares should be treated as normal during their pregnancy taking care not to stress them during treatment
  • Mares should be wormed two weeks prior to their expected foaling date
  • Once a mare has foaled, the mare and foal should both be wormed with first foal worming at twelve weeks of age and subsequently every eight weeks so that large burdens are not allowed to develop

APVMA: 47955/55925

Dosage and Administration

  • Give orally at the recommended dose level of 1mL/20kg of bodyweight
  • The dose of 1mL/20kg bodyweight delivers 0.2 mg/kg of ABAMECTIN and 2.5 mg/kg of PRAZIQUANTEL
  • The contents of this syringe will treat one horse at 700kg bodyweight
  • Each weight marking on the syringe plunger will deliver 5mL of paste which is sufficient to treat 100kg body weight

How To Use

  • Insert the syringe into the sides of the horse’s mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth
  • Advance the plunger as far as it will go, press the plunger to the chosen dosage, depositing the medication on the rear of the tongue
  • Immediately raise the horse’s head for a few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose has been swallowed

Suggested Parasite Control Program

  • All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals, and yearlings
  • Foals should be treated initially at 6-8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate
  • Equimax is highly effective against tapeworms and gastrointestinal, cutaneous, and pulmonary nematodes and bots of horses of all ages
  • Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S.vulgaris
  • With its broad spectrum, the paste is well suited to be the major product in a parasite control program
  • Because reinfection is common, treatment must be repeated routinely for effective control
