Ergonomic, Easy-To-Use Syringe

  • Provides all the benefits of EQUIMAX, in a low volume dose, easy-to-use syringe
  • Easier to use for horses who are difficult to worm
  • The smaller sized syringe is designed to be more comfortable to hold and use with a shorter plunger and curved finger grips
  • The dose markers can be easily seen whether you are right or left-handed

Benefits

  • Safe to use on all horses including foals, pregnant mares, and breeding stallions
  • Palatable oatmeal flavoured paste
  • Developed and made in Australia
  • Treat at a dose level of 1mL/100kg body weight
  • One syringe will treat a horse up to 700kg

Further Information

  • Can be safely used in breeding stallions at any time without adversely affecting their fertility
  • Can be used in mares at all stages of pregnancy - pregnant mares should be treated as normal during their pregnancy taking care not to stress them during treatment
  • Mares should be wormed two weeks prior to their expected foaling date
  • Once a mare has foaled, the mare and foal should both be wormed with first foal worming at twelve weeks of age and subsequently every eight weeks so that large burdens are not allowed to develop

Dosage

  • 1mL/100kg of bodyweight is the recommended dose rate
  • The syringe delivers sufficient paste to treat 700 kg of bodyweight at the recommended dose rate
  • Each weight marking on the syringe plunger will deliver 1.07g of paste which is sufficient to treat 100kg bodyweight

How To Use

  • Insert the syringe into the side of the horse’s mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth
  • Advance the plunger as far as it will go, press the plunger to the chosen dosage, depositing the medication on the rear of the tongue
  • Immediately raise the horse’s head for a few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose is swallowed

Suggested Parasite Control Program

  • All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals, and yearlings
  • Foals should be treated initially at 6-8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate
  • Equimax is highly effective against tapeworms and gastrointestinal, cutaneous, and pulmonary nematodes and bots of horses of all ages
  • Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S.vulgaris
  • With its broad spectrum, the paste is well suited to be the major product in a parasite control program
  • Because reinfection is common, treatment must be repeated routinely for effective control
