CatRescue NSW was the first no kill rescue group in Sydney when it was formed in 2005.
CatRescue NSW is a network of trained volunteer foster carers dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned cats and dogs. We are strictly \'no-kill\', and committed to the well being of every animal we rescue. To achieve this we rely on the hard work of volunteers and support from the community. Please consider adopting a rescued cat or kitten today, you will be saving a life and enriching your own.”
Generally, we rescue from three Sydney pounds and we also take in strays from the community. We don’t usually take surrendered pets unless there is a sop story such as owner died or breakup due to domestic violence. However we do offer to help with rehoming by listing pets on our PetRescue account. We also run a Subsidised Desexing Program in September and in 2012 we issued over 280 certificates. We endeavour to help people with desexing all year round but this can become difficult during some months of kitten season when our resources are stretched as far as they can go.
