Comfortis Plus For Dogs Green Medium 9.1-18kg Treats Fleas Heartworm And Intestinal Worms

Fast acting, chewable, monthly flea, heartworm and intestinal worm control - for dogs older than 8 weeks of age and weighing more than 2.3kg in body weight

  • Prevents diseases caused by these parasites
  • Treats, prevents and controls fleas and flea infestations
  • Helps control flea allergy dermatitis
  • Prevents heartworm disease
  • Treats and controls adult hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infections

Combines two active ingredients to provide protection for your dog against potentially dangerous parasites

  • Kills fleas by attacking their nervous system
  • Destroys larval stages of heartworm and intestinal worms

The active ingredient, Spinosad, kills fleas rapidly

  • Begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes of oral administration
  • Kills 100% of fleas within 4 hours
  • Because it kills fleas quickly, it is highly supportive in treating Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD)
  • Kills the adult fleas before they lay eggs and thus prevents future infestations

The active ingredient, Milbemycin oxime

  • Controls roundworms, hookworms and whipworms
  • Effectively prevents diseases caused by these worms

Easy to administer oral treatment

  • Convenient and simple
  • Beef flavoured chew containing pork based protein and hydrolysed soy
  • Pets love the meaty flavour and take the chew as a treat

Indicated For

  • Use in dogs and puppies, from eight weeks of age, and 2.3 kg body weight or greater
  • Monthly administration for the prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis);
  • The treatment, prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis)
  • The control of flea allergy dermatitis

General Instructions

Administration Schedule

  • The treatment schedule may begin at any time of the year, and can continue monthly without interruption for year round effective parasite control
  • It should be administered at monthly intervals, preferably on the same date each month
  • If a dose is missed, and the interval between the previous and missed dose, is less than 14 days, the monthly dosing schedule can be immediately resumed
  • If a dose is missed, and the interval between the previous and missed dose, is more than 6 weeks, consult your veterinarian for advice, prior to resuming the monthly dosing schedule

Heartworm

  • As with other monthly heartworm preventatives, dogs should be tested for heartworm prior to commencing treatment - use of this product, with dogs that currently have heartworm, is not recommended
  • When replacing another monthly heartworm preventative product, the first dose must be given within one month of the last dose of the previous monthly medication

Fleas

  • As with other monthly flea preventatives, for effective flea control and to minimise the likelihood of flea reinfestation, it is important to treat all pets in the household, at the same time, with an approved parasite protection product
  • Where the environmental infestation of fleas is heavy and chronic, the concurrent use of a registered environmental control product, on areas such as pet bedding and carpets, may help to bring long term resolution of the flea infestation more rapidly

Intestinal Worms

  • As with other monthly intestinal worm preventatives, for effective control and to minimise the likelihood of reinfection, it is important to treat all pets in the household, at the same time, with an approved parasite protection product

Vomiting After Administration

  • In some animals, there may be transient vomiting, within 48 hours of administration of the first dose
  • Puppies less than 14 weeks of age may experience an increased rate of vomiting
  • The incidence of vomiting decreases with each repeat monthly dose
  • If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, re-dose with another full dose

Precautions

  • Should not be administered to puppies less than 8 weeks of age
  • Contains pork based protein – this may not suit pets allergic to pork
  • Safe use in male dogs used for breeding has not been evaluated

Seek veterinary advice regarding use in

  • Pregnant and lactating females
  • Dogs with pre-existing epilepsy
  • Dogs taking high doses of lvermectin or macrocyclic lactones
