Ant Proof Plate Rectangle For Dogs And Cats 30.5cm x 18.5cm

Ant Proof Plate Rectangle For Dogs And Cats Is A Natural And Safe Way To Deter Ants From Your Pets Bowl

If you are tired of ants invading your pet’s food bowl, this ant proof plate is here to the rescue!

  • The plate does not use poison to kill the ants, rather it is a natural solution that makes it impossible for ants to reach your pet’s bowl!
  • Simply place your pet’s bowl, or item you want protected from ants on the Ant Proof Plate and it will remain free from ants for the long term
  • The plate draws upon a repellent made from fossilised algae, known as diatomaceous earth (diatom)
  • Diatom is presented in a powder-like form, extracted from the environment and is safe for humans and pets, but deadly for insects
  • Diatom feels uncomfortable to insects, slugs, and snails; therefore, preventing them from going anywhere near it!
  • When an insect touches diatom, the silica removes the waxy outer coating from the insect’s exoskeleton, meaning the insect cannot absorb water and will die of dehydration
  • The repellent is positioned underneath the top plate with suspension glue pads to keep it in place and protect it from dust and condensation
  • If an ant does try to cross over the repellent underneath the top plate, gravity will cause the ant to lose its footing – therefore, crossing the barrier to your pet’s bowl will be unfeasible!
  • Placing the repellent underneath the top plate also keeps it out of sight and stops inquisitive pets from getting covered in loose powder
  • The plate comes loaded with repellent ready to use
  • One application of diatomaceous earth can last up to 2 years!
  • The plate has an outer raised lip that prevents your dog’s bowl from sliding off the plate
  • The lip will also protect the ant repellent from water spillage
  • The plate is made of ABS plastic material
  • The plate has 4 legs which makes a wide gap between the top plate and the bottom plate – this gap is too high for most species of ant to climb up
  • To reach the top plate, the ants would have to pass through the repellent which is not possible
  • The plate is used to hold your pet’s bowl; therefore, it will not require much washing – simply wipe clean with a wet cloth
  • It can also be used for picnics, camping, BBQs, in the pantry and special outdoor occasions
  • Easy to use and no initial set up required
  • It is mess-free, lightweight and portable
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Nontoxic and completely safe (except for pet snails)
  • 100% Australian made and owned

Dimensions

  • Top plate: 30.5cm x 18.3cm width
  • Bottom plate: 32.7cm length x 23cm width
  • Total height: 3.9cm
  • Outer lip on top plate: 1.2cm height
  • The gap between the top and bottom plates: 1.8cm height

Note

  • Unless you leave your ant proof plate in the rain or it gets washed, you will not need to replace the repellent
  • If you would like to replace the repellent, simply unscrew the bottom plate, and rub new diatoms onto the circular glue suspension pads, then re-attach the base with the screws
  • Diatoms are completely safe and are even found in many grain-based foods
  • Ants cannot build a tolerance to the repellent
  • When not in use, store the plate with the base on a flat surface to prevent dust or residue settling on the repellent and creating a ladder for ants to walk on
  • The plate comes pre-loaded with repellent which can last up to 2 years with proper care
  • If your Ant Proof Plate stops working, it may have gotten wet and the repellent may have been washed off, or there may be a leaf, stick or branch underneath the plate which is creating a bridge for ants to access the top plate

 Cleaning

  • Washing your plate will wash off the pre-applied repellent and it will need to be replaced
  • The plate only needs a gentle wipe in most cases
  • Do not place in the dishwasher
  • If you want to wash your plate, you can purchase replacement repellent and apply
  • To apply, unscrew the bottom plate, rub in the new diatomaceous earth, and re-attach the base
  • DO NOT SCRUB the glue surface under the plate, it only needs to be rinsed and allowed to dry before re-applying the repellent
