How does the Adaptil Collar work?
- The Adaptil Collar is easy to use and convenient as it releases dog appeasing pheromone constantly (even when the dog is outside)
- The dog’s body temperature and close contact warm the collar and encourage the diffusion of pheromones into the local environment
- The appeasing pheromone is released almost immediately
- The collar must be in close contact with the dog’s skin at all times
- The Adaptil Collar is proven to work on all breeds of dog, as long as it is fitted correctly
- The collar will not work when it is wet but diffuses again as soon as it is dry
- Each collar lasts up to 4 weeks and can be replaced as required
What is Appeasing Pheromone?
- Lactating bitches produce an appeasing pheromone naturally which comforts their pupppies and makes them feel safe and secure. This percpetion of the appeasing pheromone remains throughout a dog's life
- The Adaptil Collar cleverly draws upon this idea and provides a synthetic copy of this dog appeasing pheromone to provide a fantastic solution to canine fear and stress
- Designed to comfort dogs in stressful situations and can also help in behavioural therapy and training

Adaptil Spray
Active Constituents: 15.72 mg/ml Synthetic Analogue
- A synthetic replica of the Dog Appeasing Pheromone that mother dogs emit to puppies to reassure them and reinforce the bond they share
- The pheromone is odourless to people and other animals and can only be perceived by dogs
- Pheromones are detected by the vomeronasal organ, VNO, located in the palate of the mouth of a dog. From this point, receptors relay information to the emotional centres of the brain, which brings about physiological and behavioural changes for the dog
- Detecting and responding to the pheromone is an automatic completely unconscious process that requires no control or previous learning by the dog
- Specifically developed for dogs, is non-sedating and can be used in conjunction with other medication
Uses
- Helps in reassuring dogs and puppies during experiences that could cause fear or stress – for example: car travel, air travel, going to the vet, being home alone, changes in the home, new visitors
- Has a calming effect on adult dogs and puppies
- Assists new pets to be calm, settled and feel secure when settling in with their new family
- Helps to support anxious dogs and prevent fear and stress related behaviours – for example: destructive behaviours, barking, whining, house soiling, licking, chewing, pacing, shaking
- Can be used alone or in combination with Adaptil Diffuser or Collar
Note
- Do not spray directly on your dog or near an animals face
- Do not spray in the car, crate, carrier, indoor kennels or bedding if the dog is inside or using them
