Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Gastrointestinal Low Fat Canned Wet Dog Food

It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before and during the use of this product to determine the needs of your dog.

Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional management of adult dogs that require a fat restricted, highly digestible diet. 

  • Formulated for the regulation of lipid metabolism in cases of hyperlipidaemia
  • Low fat content helps to improve digestive function and aids gastric emptying
  • Highly digestible proteins and starches reduce digestive workload and colonic fermentation – helping to reduce flatulence and improve stools
  • Includes fermentable fibres (beet pulp) and prebiotics (fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), mannan-oligosacchrides (MOS)) to assist beneficial digestive bacteria, prevent growth of harmful digestive bacteria and nourish intestinal cells
  • Added antioxidant complex (vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein, taurine) helps to mitigate cellular damage that can occur within the body during gastrointestinal disease
  • Includes Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA/DHA) to support intestinal mucosa and optimal nutrient absorption
  • Provides maintenance energy levels even though it is a fat restricted diet

Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Acute and chronic pancreatitis
  • Hyperlipidaemia
  • Lymphangiectasia  
  • Gastritis, oesophagitis
  • Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Contraindications: 

  • Growth, gestation, lactation

Pork by-products, rice flour, maize grits, maize flour, poultry by-products, pork blood products, powdered cellulose, minerals, beet pulp, yeass and part thereof, fish oil, marigold extract (source of lutein)

This product has been a miracle for my Pugs weight she got a really bad UTI over a year ago and put on so much weight with the UTI food that Royal Canin Gastrointestinal low Fat was the only food that help her lose the weight. So now I fed her the UTI food in the morning and Gastrointestinal food at night which has help balance her diet and UTI issues. Also buying it from Budget Direct has saved me so much money I can’t recommend both food and company.
