Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Satiety Weight Management Loaf Canned Wet Dog Food

It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before and during the use of this product in order to determine the needs of your dog.

  • Prescribed by veterinarians as a nutritional management aid during a veterinary-supervised weight reduction program
  • Formulated for safe and effective weight loss and successful long-term weight management in dogs
  • Includes a blend of fibres that increases the volume of the stomach contents after the food is eaten - promotes satiety, reducing the urge to consume more food, and supports healthy weight loss
  • High protein content helps support satiety and maintain muscle mass during weight loss
  • Nutrient rich to compensate for the effect of energy restriction during a weight loss program
  • The blend of soluble and insoluble fibres helps to support healthy digestion and maintain fibre responsive gastrointestinal disease
  • S/O Index – The clinically proven formula promotes a urinary environment that does not support the development of calcium oxalate and struvite uroliths in the urine

Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:

  • Overweight/Obesity

Feeding Guide

  • It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use
  • The guidelines are a starting point, and your pet may need more food depending on age, activity level and temperament
  • Your dog’s individual feeding amount will be determined and adjusted by your veterinarian during the weight-loss program
  • Ensure your dog is always provided with clean, fresh water
  • You can split the daily feeding amount into 2 separate meals

Feeding Guidelines

  • Individual target weight is determined and then feeding amount established
  • The recommended daily intake is based on the pet’s ideal weight
  • The starting ration may need to be adjusted during follow-up visits, based on each individual’s response and the rate of weight loss
  • An objective of losing 1-3% bodyweight per week is generally achievable over the first 3 months, and 0.5-2% afterwards

How is the energy allocation for maintenance after weight loss calculated?

  • Energy requirements to maintain stable body weight after weight loss are lower than those of dogs that have never been obese
  • Based on current scientific insights, maintenance after weight loss rations is calculated by increasing the weight loss ration by +10%
  • NOTE: maintenance rations may need to be adjusted based on individual evolution

Yes, I recommend this product.

Jacks vet put him on a diet as he was gaining too much weight. He has lost 6kg on this diet food, combined with the Royal Canine Satiety wet food. He can’t wait for meal times and loves his tucker. He has a lumpy bowl to stop him eating it too quickly, but even still, it doesn’t last long. It’s great for overweight pooches, but you need to get the ok from your veterinarian first.
