Comfortis® starts to kill fleas on cats within 30 minutes, killing greater than 95% of fleas within 4 hours and 100% within 24 hours of administration.Does not control paralysis tick.

This product must be given with a full meal.

Product Summary:  

  • For the treatment, prevention and control of flea infestations and flea allergy dermatitis
  • Tablets are given orally, once a month
  • Beef flavoured tablets
  • Fast-acting and lasting relief against fleas

General Instructions:

  • Monthly treatment should continue the entire year.
  • It is important to treat all animals within a household with an approved flea protection product.
  • Use of a registered environmental control product on areas such as bedding and carpet, may assist with a more rapid resolution of the flea infestation.

Precautions:

  • Should not be administered to kittens less than 14 weeks of age.
  • For some animals, vomiting may occur within 48 hours of administration of the dose.
  • In cats, the rate of vomiting does not appear to decrease with repeat doses.
  • May also cause diarrhoea and salivation in cats.
  • Safe use in breeding, pregnant, lactating female cats or breeding male cats has not been evaluated.
  • For cats, the safe use of Comfortis, in conjunction with gastrointestinal wormers and heartworm preventatives (avermectins and milbemycins), and with topical tick treatments and collars, has not been evaluated.

Active Constituent: 

  • Spinosad 560mg
  • Use in cats and kittens 14 weeks of age or older and weighing minimum of 1.4 kilograms.
  • Cats weighing over 11.2 kg should be administered the appropriate combination of tablets.
  • Should be administered with food for maximum effectiveness.
  • Dosing interval must not be less than monthly for cats.

These start working within half an hour, whilst it looks unpleasant for your pet initially as they scratch and itch during initial flea movement, it is definitely well worth while, after a couple of hours you will see your pet resting peacefully without pesky fleas

I’ve read a lot of reviews before buying this. All I can say is for my 8month old Maine Coon cat I’ve had no issues with this product, no side effects, nothing. He actually enjoys eating it every month alone before his meal. The reason I bought this was because topical treatment to the back of the neck isn’t really all that effective for him since he’s a long haired cat, so I thought I’d go with this. As I’ve said it works great for MY cat, so please do your research and ask your vet and make an informed decision before you buy.
