Did You Know That Fleas Are Still In Your House In Winter?

You may be fooled into believing that fleas disappear in winter, and therefore you no longer require flea treatment, but just because they are not seen on your pet it doesn’t mean they are not there. I can assure you, they are living happily and comfortably in your home ALL YEAR AROUND. So, where are they?

The female flea lays up to 500 eggs in warm dark places such as deep down into your carpet fibres and animal bedding. The eggs will stay there long after the female adult flea has died waiting for the warmer months to trigger hatching. This is how you go from none to millions overnight! Seemingly a population explosion!

Only 5% of the fleas’ lifecycle involves your pet, that means, 95% of the flea population lives in the environment, such as carpets, lounges and bedding. The adult flea is the only part of the lifecycle that requires your pet to feed on, so it's not surprising that there seems to be an endless supply of fleas.

This is why you must treat for fleas EVERY MONTH, ALL YEAR AROUND. They are still in your home in winter, just not on your pet.
