Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Obesity Dry Food

It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before and during the use of this product in order to determine the needs of your dog.

  • Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional management of reducing body weight (weight loss) in overweight dogs
  • High in protein content to help maintain muscle mass throughout the weight loss period
  • High protein content to increase palatability and satisfy appetite
  • Enriched with nutrients, minerals and vitamins to avoid nutritional deficiencies when calorie intake is restricted
  • Includes chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine to assist in maintaining healthy bones and joints that can be placed under stress by excess body weight
  • Includes an exact amount of essential fatty acids (Omega-3 & Omega-6) for healthy skin and coat

Indications – may be prescribed to nutritionally manage:

  • Obesity
  • Over weight
  • Weight management

Contraindications: 

  • Chronic disease requiring an increased energy intake
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation
  • Growth 

 

COMPOSITION:

  • Dehydrated poultry meat, wheat, vegetable fibres, maize gluten, beet pulp, wheat gluten*, hydrolysed animal proteins, animal fats, minerals, psyllium husks and seeds, fish oil, hydrolysed crustaceans (source of glucosamine), marigold extract (source of lutein), hydrolysed cartilage (source of chondroitin)

ADDITIVES (per kg):

  • Nutritional additives: Vitamin A: 15000 IU, Vitamin D3: 800 IU, E1 (Iron): 33 mg, E2 (Iodine): 3 mg, E4 (Copper): 4 mg, E5 (Manganese): 42 mg, E6 (Zinc): 140 mg, Technological additives: Pentasodium triphosphate: 3.5 g
  • Preservatives - Antioxidants.

Feeding Advice: 

  • Prior to introducing the diet, individual target weight should be determined by a veterinarian
  • The amount of food necessary to induce weight loss can vary between individuals
  • Close veterinary monitoring is required to regularly adapt the ration and ensure continued weight loss
